Rocky is a beautiful sweet Chocolate gelding with light flaxen mane & tail! He's a stout 15 hands and coming 13 years old. His current owners purchased Rocky 3 years ago from a family whose Dad had passed. His children were grown and only knew that Rocky was his horse and that he was registered and was 10 years old but they never found his papers. Rocky has been ridden by the entire family and used for novice riders and kids to learn on. Absolutely anyone can ride him anytime anywhere just a very quiet laid-back gelding! Rocky has a very smooth gait! He is great to use as a lesson horse, his present owners have a boarding facility so they do let the kids ride Rocky which you can see in his video! The owners have taken him on several big trail rides and even to Fair Hill, Maryland where he went over open bridges with a highway below, streams, tunnels with water going through them! He can be on the lazy side but that's great for older riders or young beginners to learn on! Rocky is great riding in groups, will lead or follow. He stands great for the Farrier, mounting, bathing, stands great in cross ties and trailer loads. If you're looking for a sweet, experienced more whoa than go trail horse Rocky is for you! He’s been ridden extensively in New York, Pennsylvania and spent 2 months over the summer in Idaho and Montana riding their scenic trails! If you like riding western owner has trained him to walk trot canter plus he neck reins like a dream and does have a nice slower gait! Bourbon gets along nicely in a group, will lead, go in the middle or follow, he's been used to pony other horse's and has packed gear/chainsaw for trail clearing! He's gentle, loves attention and has been trained right by his owner! Owner lets her friends ride Bourbon also just so he’s use to different riders. He does need to be on smaller pastures with limited access to lush grass because he is an easy keeper! He did have a bout with his insulin level getting spiking once so his owner limits his grass intake but also keeps him on Insulin Wise as a precaution even though his sugar level is in line now so it will be up to his new owner whether or not to keep him on it or keep him off lush grass. She says he’s sound and she welcomes a PPE! Bourbon is up to date on everything. Vaccines “6 way + Lyme”, worming, teeth floated, massage, feet and coggins.
